The Magic Circle's YMC Stage Magician of the Year 2025

I am honoured to announce that I have been named the recipient of this prestigious award. The significance of this achievement is still settling in, and it remains a truly surreal milestone in my career.

Having competed in this event for the past two years, this third attempt carried deep personal importance. While I successfully reached the finals in previous years, I had yet to secure a top-three placement. My primary motivation for competing was to earn the opportunity to perform at The Magic Circle headquarters for its adult membership—a career milestone I had not yet achieved. Following a disappointing outcome the previous year, I made the conscious decision to approach this competition with an entirely new strategy.

The resulting act pushed me well beyond my usual professional comfort zone. Moving away from my established style of simplistic, meaningful, and human-centric mentalism, I designed a grand, high-energy, and highly dynamic performance. This concept was engineered specifically to align with the competition's strict judging criteria: Presentation and Appearance, Magical Content, and Entertainment Value. Adapting to these requirements led to the creation of a unique, cinema-themed routine that differed fundamentally from any of my previous work.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the individuals who supported the development of this act and my growth as a stage performer. Thank you to Rafferty Coope and Joseph Westbury for their excellent assistance on stage, and to Michael Vincent and Brendan for capturing the event through their exceptional photography. I am also grateful to Alfie Lelliott and Seb Gratwick for their creative input, and to Wayne Trice for his outstanding stage management, Harry De Cruz and Edward Hilsum for their continuous support, and Marvin Berglas for his dedication to fostering young talent and for inspiring the very beginning of my journey in magic. I am deeply indebted to you all.

My time with the Young Magic Circle has been an invaluable experience that has already opened many doors, with further exciting developments to be announced in the near future.
